UCSB plant update
Here's another irregularly spaced update on the plants at UCSB I've been keeping tabs on. First up, the random tomato plant growing by Broida Hall. R and I came upon it a week or so ago and noticed how someone had removed most of its fruit. Now it seems to be dying down, although some branches with verdant, leafy growth developed recently.

Here are the house plants that grew from cuttings from R's mother's plants. Clockwise from top left we have a wandering jew, 2 creeping charlies, and 3 coleus. The bottom left coleus was the healthiest one and first to develop roots, but it developed transplant shock once we stuck it into a small cup of soil. Ah well, R and I will wait a while before tossing it. The wandering jew developed more roots wherever it touched the soil, and is displaying rapid growth. The creeping charlies are growing steadily, but not as swiftly as the wandering jew.

Now we turn to the spider plants. Clockwise from top left, we have the varieties vittatum, the normal green spider plant, and variegatum. The variegatum pups came from E's parent spider plant, and have since recovered from their transplanting more than a month ago. The normal all-green spider plant is just as perky as ever, with a wandering jew growing in the same pot. One vittatum pup is doing better than the other.

Lastly, here are the pothos, which still have not developed very visible roots while in water. I'll probably just stick them in soil soon.
